Overview

This online video training, the fourth in the Hospital First Receiver series, covers patient decontamination for mass casualty incidents. After a mass casualty incident hospitals may receive patients who have not been decontaminated by emergency responders, due to the large number of people involved in the incident. To meet standards set by the Joint Commission hospitals must have the capabilities for radioactive, biological and chemical isolation and decontamination.

Having personnel familiar with the procedures for mass decontamination will ensure smoother operation should the system need to be put into operation. This video course provides information on pre-incident planning, implementing the decontamination process and post-decontamination procedures.

Preparing employees with the skills demonstrated in this course will keep victims and the hospital personnel and facility safe from contamination. Use this online health and safety training video to organize your mass decontamination operation.
