Hazmat Operations 5: Tactics

This online video training course is the final of five courses educating emergency responders on how to deal with situations where hazardous materials are involved. While strategies are implemented at the command level, tactics are typically performed by lower ranking responders. This video teaches responders how to evaluate and implement a variety of tactical options.

Tactics, unlike strategies, are measurable and usually have a specific goal. The implementation of the tactic may require a decision of the responder without the opportunity to consult the command level. Knowing the various types of tactics, and how they are best used, will help responders to choose the most efficient and effective method to deal with the situation at the hands-on level.
